This pass weekend, I’d spent a little time in Nantes. For those who don’t know where Nantes is. It’s 2hrs by train from Paris. Others might say that Nantes is a small city. After living and working in big city like San Diego, San Francisco and Paris. I disagree why….

I fine Nantes to be very big city. It has a touch and feel of : San Diego modern and contemporary building, every thing is spread out – giving the need for having a car, trams like Amsterdam, Centre Ville like the Marais – Saint Germain de Prés, Vélib’ transformed into Bicloo, les quai of the seine now the quai of La Loire, vibes of energy flowing, hidden history of Slave Trading Port – Château, the style and life of San Francisco Pier 39 transformed into Le Hanger à bananas, the early morning fresh air of the city by the bay, nature meets urban and lastly simplicity.

During my petit séjour I seen one exposition called who are we? «Nantais ?! Qui sommes-nous ?» at the Château des ducs de Bretagne. Well put together videos and interviews of Nantes citizens. What I retain from this expos was the diversity of people and how everything in mix in. There are no separated neighbourhoods of Chinese, African etc.. Everyone is everywhere. That’s the way it should be. Simplicity… I am sure there is so much more to discover but I feel as if I would need more than 2 days, to experience and take in all this city has to offer. So you see for me this is not a little city.

Ce week-end passé, j’avais dépensé un peu de temps à Nantes. D’autres pourraient dire que Nantes est une petite ville. Après vécu et travailler dans les grandes villes comme San Diego, San Francisco et Paris. Je ne suis pas d’accord pourquoi…. Je trouve qu’il n’est pas concentrât comme Paris un joli round avec tout dedans. Les bâtiments se ressemblent comme San Diego moderne et contemporaine, chaque chose est répandue, des trams comme Amsterdam, le Centre Ville comme le Marais – Germain Saint de Prés, Vélib ‘ transformé en Bicloo, les quai de la seine à les quai de Loire, l’ambiance des gens, l’histoire cachée de Port de Commerce d’Esclave et Château, le style et la vie de San Francisco Quai 39 transformé en Le Hanger à bananas, nord et le sud de Nantes, le premier d’air frais du matin, la nature rencontre urbain et finalement la simplicité.

Pendant mon petit séjour j’ai vu une exposition s’appelé : «Nantais ?! Qui sommes-nous ?» au Château des ducs de Bretagne. Vidéos Bien réunies et les interviews des citoyens de Nantes. Ce que je conserve de cet expos était la diversité des gens et comme tout est mélanger. Il n’y a aucun voisinage séparé genre quartier chinois, l’africain etc… Chacun est partout. Ah la simplicité … je suis sûr il y a tellement choses à découvrir mais je me sens comme si j’aurais besoin de plus de 2 jours, éprouver et prendre dans toute cette ville doit offrir. Donc pour moi c’est très très grand.
A la prochaine fois Nantes…..
