Week #3!
This week I’ve been trying to work faster! Since the start of my internship with Rachael Hampton I’ve been working on my projects at a pace I’d normally work at in college as we would have one or two whole weeks to finish one project. But I’ve learnt that in the ‘real world’ a graphic designer needs to be able to work on different projects at one time and stick to the deadlines!
Soon after I learn and work on a small a video cast for the Internet using the software iMovie incorporating different images from a photo shoot with Rajul and a the brand ‘Merveilleuses de Mariève‘. I had never used this software but I soon became familiar with it! After airbrushing the photos and importing them into the video, added a music clip. I really enjoyed this wee discovery! Rachael went through it with me and was able to suggest some effects that suited certain photos better. It turned out quite well and is now on Youtube, Dailymotion, and Facebook!
I also experience my first networking events with entrepreneurs, Rachael invited me to a open coffee event here in Nantes. After meeting some people who have online boutiques, Then it was back to work! Rachael briefed me on my new project, which is to design some illustrations based on Rajul’s baseline for badges. I tried to inspire myself from some illustrations we saw in a book which I thought was a good idea! However, after I drew them up they looked too much like the original illustrations. So I started again, using the symbols from zodiac as the base of the illustration.
Today is Friday… This morning I’m correcting and painting the badge illustrations (using inks). This afternoon we are going to Web2day, before I leave for La Roche sur Yon for France’s national music festival this weekend!
Semaine #3.
Cette semaine j’ai essayé de travailler plus rapidement! Depuis le début de mon stage avec Rachael Hampton je travaille sur les projects à une vitesse dans laquelle je travaille habituellement à mon école, car nous avons une ou deux semaines entières pour finir un seul projet. Mais j’ai appris que dans ‘la vraie vie’ (!) un graphiste doit travailler sur plusieurs projets en même temps et les finir dans les délais!
Lundi
Rachael a suggéré que je crée une vidéocast pour l’internet sur iMovie, un logiciel que je ne connaissais pas, mais rapidement j’en ai fait connaissance! La vidéo devait incorporer des images d’une prise de vue avec les marques Rajul et ‘Merveilleuses de Mariève’. Après avoir retouché les photos et les plaçant dans la vidéo, j’ai inclut de la musique. Cette découverte m’a beaucoup plu! Rachael a pu suggérer des effets sympas qui allaient mieux à certains endroits et au finale la vidéo est assez jolie et c’est actuellement sur Youtube, Dailymotion et Facebook!
Après avoir été rencontrer des entrepreneurs qui ont des boutiques en ligne au open coffee, Ensuite, c’était au boulot! Rachael m’a fait un brief sur mon nouveau projet ce qui est de faire des illustrations autour du baseline de Rajul pour en faire des badges. Je me suis inspirée des illustrations que j’ai vu dans un livre, ce que j’ai pensé être une bonne idée! Cependant elles ressemblaient trop aux images originales qu’il fallait que je recommence utilisant les signes du Zodiaque comme base.
Là on est vendredi! Ce matin je corrige et je peins les illustrations des badges (avec des encres). Cette après midi nous allons assister à un salon WEB2day avant que je parte à La Roche sur Yon pour la fête de la Musique!
