Is e-marketing in France starting to change little by little….. Becoming more laid back….
I received a casual email by a company selling or asking me to sign up to their newly on-line product. First wondered why it didn’t go into my spam box with a to line: destinataires inconnus: and a subject line :company name here est fait pour toi ! The first thing that catches my eyes was the TOI.
If you don’t know the French Language you have ‘vous’ (formal) and ‘tu’ (informal).
In English means YOU. Basically you use vous for someone you don’t know and Tu for friends, family and in casual situation. Or if you are a foreigner sometime using just Tu for everybody is easier with all the conjugations, but in business contact it always better to use vous for respect.
Back to the email.
Is the French culture starting to change losing old values and transcending into different way to conduct business trends….. So this new style of email marketing and spamming with TU – TOI is it working for this website??? I don’t know but after seeing the tu repeatedly.
I didn’t bother. Just another website who list thing to do and what they think is in.
